Product Information and Availability FAQs

Here you will find questions pertaining to our stock's lot and general information. We also include common questions we receive in regards to general standard operating procedures when dealing with our perishable items.

Shelf Life

Q. I need a product that will last, but I don't make cheese often. How should I proceed with my order?

A. We recommend reaching out to us directly, to discuss any advise in a specific case. Generally speaking, cultures can last quite some time if held in the freezer, and rennet selections like tablet or powder form will almost always have a much longer shelf life, compared to the liquid styles. That being said, all of our perishable products are assigned batch numbers and best by dates specific to their batch.

Q. I cannot find a best by date on my large culture pack. Can you help?

A. Yes! When we receive new culture batches from the manufacturers, we always have the product information sheets and certificates of analysis, which will include all production dates. Please reach out to us at info@cheesemaking,com for specific product information.

Q. How do I know my product is fresh?

A. We always order based on stock levels. We function on a first-in first-out system, leaving little to no room for old or expired stock to be distributed. Please reach out to us directly with any questions or concerns.

Stock and Product Availability

Q. I found what I need on your site, but you are sold out. How often do you restock your selection?

A. If an item is ever out of stock on our site, you can bet that it's replacement is on it's way! Unless a product is discontinued by the manufacturer, we will be getting it back in stock!

Q. Can I pay for an out of stock item now, and have it delivered when it comes in?

A. Unfortunately we do not have a system for this sort of transaction. You can, however, reach out to us at [email protected] for information regarding its estimated restocking time!

Q. Do you sell replacement parts for your products? Items like springs for your press, or lids for your yogurt maker?

A. In most cases, yes! There are certain items that we do have available off site, which we will need to set up specifically for these sorts of items. If you do not see what you are looking for on cheesemaking.com, please reach out to us!k Please note that the main exception to this rule is hard cheese mold specific followers. We apologize for any inconvenience, as these come as a set with no extra pieces.
